During a holiday I took for my birthday in January 2018, I visited Tenerife and discovered the beauty of the aesthetic combination of the ocean and brutalist buildings. This has fascinated me ever since, not because I disliked it, quite the opposite, but because of the unimaginable lengths that humans would go to in order to live on the “first row from the ocean”. In Tenerife, the idea that an ocean view is accessible to all felt very real, which is why even buildings that didn't seem particularly fancy could have owners living with a dream view. However, I didn't see anyone in or around those buildings; owning an apartment with an ocean view seemed like living in a ghost town.
